Stundenglass Kompact Gravity Infuser comes in a compact travel case. Basically it is a more compact and portable type of gravity infuser of the Stundenglass Hookah family.
Inside the Stundenglass Kompact Gravity Infuser Travel Case
Inside the compact travel case you will find an instruction manual, a glass and aluminum infuser with two globes, two up stems, one percolator and a mouthpiece already assembled. You will also find a tray, a magnetic hose connector, a 14mm male to male adaptor, glass liner, aluminum bowl with silicone heat guard and silicone hose with attached wand and mouthpiece. Also included in the travel case is a cleaning and maintenance kit which comes with one allen key, extra O rings, cleaning wipes, microfiber cloth, pipe cleaners, cleaning brushes and an additional percolator.
Filling the Stundenglass Kompact Gravity Infuser Globe
To get started spin off the top globe and fill with water through the body into the bottom globe, up to the lip. Next reattach the top globe and make one full rotation toward yourself to ensure all seals are secure.
Three different Up Stem Percolation Configurations
There are three different up stem percolation options with your Kompact. The out-of-the-box configuration involves attaching one percolator and removing the other to optimize filtration airflow. For additional water filtration, attach the second percolator to the up stem. Spin both percolators off the up stems to maximize airflow.
Fixing the Tray, Aluminum Bowl and The Hose
Thread the male to male adaptor into the tray with the lip of the tray facing up then place the male to male adaptor and the tray into the 14 mm opening on the kompact. Then add your aluminum bowl. Optionally the included glass liner fits into the aluminum bowl. Next attach the magnetic hose connector to the mouthpiece and plug in the hose. Enjoy your kompact gravity infuser.
How to Quick clean your Stundenglass Kompact Gravity Infuser?
For a quick clean, ensure the tray and aluminum bowl have cooled down before removing. Detach the tray, bowl and hose from the unit. Unscrew the top globe and drain the water by holding the unit upside down. Remove the magnetic elbow and rubber plug from the internal valve. Dip the included cleaning brush into isopropyl alcohol and insert into the valve to clean. Push the rubber plug back into the valve and reattach the elbow then pour a small amount of isopropyl alcohol into the globe. To clean both the globes and stems properly, reattach the top globe and rotate the unit a number of times. Then drain the isopropyl alcohol and replace with water, attach the top globe, continue to rotate and then rinse with water.
Deep Cleaning the Stundenglass Kompact Gravity Infuser Unit
For a deeper cleaning, fill a bowl with isopropyl alcohol. Twist off the hose tip and set aside. Remove the wand from the magnetic silicone hose, also remove the hose itself and magnetic connector. Remove the lid and aluminum bowl. Make sure they are both cool before doing so. Detach the tray and male to male adaptor. Unscrew the top globe, then unscrew the percolator and down stem and add both the bowl containing isopropyl alcohol. Turn the unit upside down to empty water and then remove additional globe along with the percolator and up stem. Unscrew the percolator from the up stem and add both to the bowl. Unscrew the mouthpiece and add to the bowl too. Clean both the globes with alcohol and rinse properly, as mentioned earlier.
Removing the Mouthpiece elbow and other seals
Remove the magnetic elbow and rubber plug from the internal valve. Use the provided allen key to unscrew the mouthpiece elbow and remove from the unit. Next, hold the arm of the unit with one hand while removing the body of the unit with the other. Pull out the plastic seals and rubber liners and place them in the bowl. Use the included cleaning brush to clean the body and valve. Alcohol wipes and included brush can also be used clean the body and other parts. The silicone cover to the 14 mm male to male adaptor can easily be removed.
Soaking the accessories/parts in Isopropyl alcohol
Once accessories have soaked in isopropyl alcohol, be sure to rinse them thoroughly with water before reassembling. To clean the silicone hose, pour isopropyl alcohol into the hose and move each side up and down to ensure it’s coated. Then pour the isopropyl alcohol out and rinse with water thoroughly.
Proper Reassembling after deep cleaning
To reassemble, push rubber plug back-in and reattach magnetic elbow. Put seals and rubber liners back in the body. Place white seal and metal washer back on. When pushing the body back onto the valve, be sure the output hole is on the mouthpiece side. Push the mouthpiece elbow back on and use the allen key to secure mouthpiece into place.
Make sure the accessories are not wet while putting them back on, if the accessories are still wet, use a paper towel to dry completely. Screw on mouthpiece, up stems, percolators and globes. Reattach silicone over the 14 male to male adaptor and then twist adaptor back into the tray. Place the aluminum bowl back on top with the lid and reattach the magnetic hose connector to the mouthpiece. Plug in the hose, attach the wand and mouthpiece, your fresh and clean Stundenglass Kompact Gravity Infuser is ready to use.
Some Useful Tips to Maximize Your Experience
Starting from percolator, there are three different up-stem configurations to choose from. Using the default configuration smoke is filtered through the percolators every time you rotate. For a faster experience, remove one or both percolators. Removing both will give you the full gravitational force on every pull. Removing one will allow smoke to still be filtered during one rotation and pushed out faster on the next rotation.
Use of Bowl to control the Burn and Smoke
Use as little or as much material as you want. The key is using the bowl to control the burning and smoke. Remove the bowl before it finishes burning to conserve your material. It is recommended to leave the connect out when it is not in use. This allows for maximum airflow and speed. Fill with plenty of material and keep the party going by continuously rotating the Stundenglass and igniting your material.
