Galex is the new pod system by Freemax. It is well-matched both with nicotine salts and regular e-liquids. Markedly, Galex is a handy and extremely portable device having full spectrum colorful lights. Moreover, it is a durable and compact device made of Zinc alloy. In addition, it does not have any power button and is an auto draw device.
What’s Inside the Box?
Galex pod kit comes in a simple yet colorful box. Inside the package you will get a user manual, warranty card, Type-C charging cable, spare coil, bath salts and the device itself.
Overview and General Features of Freemax Galex
On the front of the device it has the branding of ‘GALEX’. Below that is a little indicator for your battery life. Furthermore, on the bottom is your Type-C charging port. On the sides of the device it has two openings for airflow, one on each side. The device does have LEDs, when you pull the pod out and put it back again, the lights turn on. There is no way to deactivate these lights so if you are not into LEDs, this might not be the one for you. Freemax Galex is strictly an auto draw device. Besides regular e-liquids you can use nic salts in this device.
GX Mesh Coils of Freemax Galex
The spare coil that comes with the device is 0.8 Ohm mesh, 13-18 Watts. It is a GX mesh coil and the coil pre-installed is 1 Ohm, 12-16 Watts GX mesh coil. Both coils are stainless steel 904L mesh and they also have T fiber cotton in them, all the coils. Galex Nano has the same exact coils and the same exact coils come in both packages.
Galex Pod Features – Pod Capacity & Filling
The pod of this device holds 2 ml of e-liquid. The pod of Freemax Galex is top fill. To fill the pod, simply crack the mouthpiece and it will expose the filling port having red membrane. A small hole on the opposite side is for the air to escape. The middle large hole if for your coil, do not fill e-liquid from the middle hole.
Priming the Coil
Priming the coil is highly recommended in Galex as in other vaping devices. After you are done filling the pod, make sure to let it sit for at least 5 minutes to ensure that cotton in the coil is fully saturated. Then grab the mouthpiece and snap it into place. The pod goes into the mod very nicely. The magnets are nice and strong on this one. It is an auto draw only device and does not come with any button for activation.
Pros and Cons
The tank has pretty much all the pros for most of the users. It has got top-fill and most of the users prefer top filling. It does not have any rubber plugs as they tend to tear, which is definitely a pro. Another pro is the availability of replaceable coils for these. The T grass fibers that are inside the coils, enhance the flavor. 904 stainless steel vape pretty good.
The airflow on the device, MTL airflow, the one thing about the device is that it has two holes. If you feel like it’s too much airflow, simply cover up one of the airflows and you will be fine. But when it comes to MTL vape experience with this device, it’s a pro. LEDs might seem as problem to some users as they can’t be turned off. You might be in a situation where you don’t want this just flashing while you are vaping, some people don’t like that.
It might seem to be a con as it is not always preferred. The Galex Nano had a way to power off the LEDs but this device does not. There is no fire button or anything like that. So if you are not into LEDs flashing around, this is probably not going to be for you but if you are into LEDs, you are going to love it. If you are an MTL vapor and have a liking for LEDs, you will enjoy this one. It has an 800 mAh battery which is pretty good for an MTL device.
Vapor and Flavor
Flavor is on point. You will get a little better flavor on this pod than the coils of other devices of the same league. Vapor production is amazing. You will be able to taste the flavor a little bit more enhanced and cleaner as compared to other devices of the same power and resistance. It may be due to the fibers (T grass fibers) that are inside the coils.
Battery and Charging
Freemax Galex pod kit comes with 800 mAh internal battery. It takes approximately 40 minutes to fully charge the device. One full charge is capable of giving you around 6 – 8 hours of continuous vaping. Charge may last longer if you are a mild user.
